Dickin Medal awarded to bomb sniffing search dog Treo

A search dog put bombs in Afghanistan must be honored with the animal
version of the Victoria Cross to be.
Princess Alexandra Black Labrador Treo received the Dickin Medal at the
Imperial War Museum in London.
The dog, now retired, from 104 Military Working Dog Support Unit, North
Luffenham in Rutland barracks, two bombs found hidden in the Helmand
province.
Treo will receive the 63 animals in order to create the Medal of the
PDSA Veterinary love, to honor the valor in combat.
The dog is eight years old by his coach, Sgt Dave Heyho during a
ceremony at 24th February support.
The duo has worked for five years and Treo has become a darling of the
family.
PDSA General Director Jan McLoughlin, said: We are anxious to comply,
Treo PDSA Dickin Medal.
This medal is recognized worldwide as the animal Victoria Cross is the
largest award for each animal can be used for bravery in performing
their tasks. Treo receive is certainly a worthy winner. A total of 26
other dogs, 32 World War II carrier pigeons, three horses and a cat won
the award by PDSA founder Maria Dickin in 1943.
